Game Day Process

  1. The center referee should collect the photo game card and payment from each team captain at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the game.
  2. Use the photo game card to verify that the player photos and jersey numbers match the participating players. For the Vets Division, the division coordinator will verify that all participants are rostered within their respective division.
  3. If players arrive after the start of the game, they must check in with the nearest AR before entering the field or they can be verified at halftime.
  4. Submit the final game report including scores within 24 hours to GotSport (code FA2024). Upload a picture of each roster with the game report when possible.
  5. All games are 90 minutes, with a 10 minute halftime. The Vets divisions may elect to play 80 minute games. Teams managers can agree on water breaks but the clock is running during the break.
  6. Each team must field at least 7 players within 15 minutes after the scheduled start of the game or it's a forfeit (3-0) to the opposing team. The clock still starts as scheduled though so once a team has seven players, they must start the game.

Division Specific Rules

1.) Premier Division

  • Standard IFAB rules apply.
  • Slide tackling is allowed.

2.) Over 40 and Vets Division:

  • No slide tackling: Sliding is allowed such as sliding to save a ball from going out of play or to block a shot from a safe distance. This rule is about player safety so there is some referee judgment here on whether the play is considered dangerous. A slide tackling offense results in at least an indirect free kick but can result in a direct free kick if an offense that normally calls for a direct free kick is committed at the same time. A direct kick and yellow card may also be issued at the referee's discretion if the slide tackle is deemed as intentional especially within the penalty area or to prevent an obvious scoring chance.
  • Subs on-the-fly: A player can sub at any point during the game but it must be done at the center line with the nearest AR's acknowledgment. A new player can enter the field of play once the other player leaves the field of play (exits at any point on the field.

Game Reschedules

1.) If a game is rescheduled after the referee has accepted the assignment, then they are due their full fee unless it is due to a field closure and then they will receive 50% of their fee.
